Our Process

Our Approach to Craftsmanship

At Essencora, we take pride in every piece we create for your home and garden. Our process is rooted in tradition, genuine attention to detail, and a belief that well-made decor can last for years. Whether it’s a hand-thrown vase, a ceramic planter, or a hand-finished lamp, we follow careful steps from sourcing to final inspection to make sure each item meets our standards.

Sourcing the Right Materials

Our process begins with thoughtful sourcing. We seek out high-quality clay and glazes from trusted suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and reliability. For our lamps and fixtures, we select sturdy hardware and durable electrical components that promise both safety and style. We believe that the right materials lay the foundation for every piece, giving each item a strong start before it ever hits the wheel or workbench.

Forming Each Piece by Hand

Every Essencora vase and planter starts its life on the potter’s wheel. Our small team of artisans hand-throw each form, shaping the clay with skill built over years of practice. For our lamps, we mold and assemble bodies before fitting them with hardware. Because each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike—each carries the subtle marks of its maker. We let the forms rest and dry naturally, a step that gives strength and prevents cracking.

Finishing and Detailing

Once the basic shapes are set, we turn our attention to finishing. Our team trims every edge, attaches handles or bases as needed, and perfects the final silhouette. We blend our own glazes and apply them in layers, achieving a range of matte and glossy finishes. Lamps are carefully wired and fitted with hand-finished details. We fire each ceramic piece in small batches, allowing for the unique color variations that set our work apart.

Quality Check and Packing

Before any item leaves our studio, it passes through a thorough quality check. We inspect for cracks, glaze consistency, and functional details—testing lamp wiring and making sure planters and vases are watertight. Pieces that don’t meet our standards are recycled or set aside for further work. When we’re confident a piece is ready, we pack it using recyclable materials that protect it in transit. Our aim is simple: to send you a product we’d be proud to use in our own homes.
